Dormant Account Funds

The Dormant Accounts Fund is a scheme for the disbursement of unclaimed funds from accounts in credit institutions in Ireland. The fund is administered under the 2001 Dormant Accounts Act, together with the Unclaimed Life Assurance Policies Act 2003 and the Dormant Accounts (Amendment) Act 2012 and is under the statutory function of the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs from July 2016.

Pobal   ( Community Service Programme )

The Community Services Programme (CSP) gives grants to community businesses that deliver services and create employment for people from disadvantaged groups. Funded by the Department of Social Protection and managed by Pobal, it supports some 425 community companies and co-operatives.

Pobal acts as an intermediary for programmes funded by the Irish Government and the EU. They do this by supporting groups and communities across the country that are applying for, or receiving funding for specific programmes. In practical terms, this can involve assessing funding applications, providing support, checking financial returns, processing payments, and auditing to ensure funds are used for the intended purposes.

Department Of Social Protection

The Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection (Irish: An Roinn Gnóthaí Fostaíochta agus Coimirce Sóisialaí) is a department of the Government of Ireland, tasked with administering Ireland’s welfare system. It oversees the provision of income support and other social services. It is led by the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection who is assisted by two Ministers of State.
